Smoothies to Try this Ramadan: Golden Smoothie

It is Ramadan and here is a recipe for the power-packed Golden Smoothie!

I love smoothies and I find them to be the perfect beverage for sahur! I always keep overripe fruits in my freezer and making smoothies is a wonderful way to use them up. But if you are looking for some convenience, Phoon Huat Huat has a range of IQF (individually quick frozen) frozen fruits that you can stock up in your freezer ranging from berries, to mangoes, kiwis, pineapples and many more!

These flash-frozen fruits do not have any significant loss of nutrients compared to fresh fruits and the IQF technology means that the fruits do not clump up together in the packet – super convenient for making small batches of smoothies I’d say!

For this Golden Smoothie recipe, I’ve used all the vitamin-packed yellow fruits I could find (some fresh, some frozen), added some turmeric powder for an extra boost of tonic and a huge dollop of the Redman Cashew Nut Butter for a dose of healthy fats and protein. This cashew butter is easily one of the most delicious, sugar-free nut butters I’ve tasted and is a nutritional powerhouse! I blend it all up with milk, use any milk you like! The great thing with smoothies is you can do it however you like!
